I burnt my finger in a cooking accident. It itches and burns like hell! It is infected and I take keflex for the infection can't have penicillin dr. told me to wrap it in gauze with penecilin and take aspirin for the pain, but to avail it is still infected and still burns and aspirin just isn't cutting it? Any suggestions. I have no ice or ice things to make ice in the freezer, but I may have access to that sometime soon. I have no aloe or lotion for burns. I am not sure if I can put lotion on it now that both blisters are broke. How long will it take to heal? I am not allowed to wash it. It was almost real bad it was almost a 3rd degree burn. All I am allowed to do is soak it in warm soapy water. Help me! I take lamictal and seraquel so I may not be allowed to have strong pain meds if they interact. Keep in mind and plz be gentile serious inquiries only, I have bipolar and am very sensitive and reactionary.

" Don't put lotion on it, lotion will only infect it further. And some silver stuff, maybe that silver sulfadiazine was used on my third degree burns and that was all I was allowed. It is a healing agent. I'm surprised that they told you to use neosporin too, I was told not to use it on serious burns. I think it's because it is oil based, or the vasaline in it. Try epsom salt. They gave me a salt bath before my skin graph surgery. I would only use a tiny bit of salt though. "
