Anyone tried any form of meditation?
I ordered a dvd called Creationscapes
It's just nature scenes set to calming music. It really helps me to relax. I also downloaded some meditations online.
Any ideas on meditation would be greatly appreciated. I'm all about ways to relax and feel peace.

" I think meditation is a wonderful thing, I just can't do it very well - yet! I listen to my Power of Now CD's when I go to sleep, those are sort of like semi-meditating, not really, but towards the right idea. Kinda like thinking about meditating, lol. If I thought I could get away with attending a yoga class, w/o making a total fool of myself, I would try that too. Seriosuly, meditation is a classic way of finding inner peace. "

" I've done a form a meditation called mindfulness meditation for many years, longer than you've been alive actually. (: It is very calming and healing. I should take my own advice and do it every day! It is very easy and simple to do. "

" I have to meditate every day...first thing in the morning and before I got to bed.

Its much easier to learn if you can do it in a group setting. Do you have any holistic wellness centers in your area or places that offer classes? many wellness centers have classes throughout the week and ask a small donation (here it is $5) I think its easier to be guided at first by someone and then once you get the hang of it go off on your own. Also, Kripalu yoga is meditative and relaxing... its one of the gentler forms....or a beginners class. best of luck to you "

" I just realized that you can download meditation instructions from Dharma Seed tape library. Just Google it if you're interested, and look for talks on meditation. I know many of these teachers, and they are some of the kindest and most wonderful people I've met in my life. This style of meditation is originally a Buddhist practice, but from my experience with it for 30 years, there is no conflict whatsoever with being Christian (as I see from your profile) or any other religion, so don't worry about that aspect of it if you're interested. " There are a bunch of us here who are practicing being present, consciousness and enlightenment which includes meditation. As anne mentioned we have been studying Eckharts Tolle's books "The power of now" and "A New Earth" Powerful stuff. "
