MMary, first of all your story is not old! All of our stories have a different spin. I'm sorry that you had to draw up this document but I truly believe you're better off protecting yourself if need be. Don't think of it as a waste of money but as a means to an end and protecting yourself and your children.

Oh do I hear you, once the papers are signed you expect that they will do the right and legally binding thing. It is not easy to move on when you constantly have the other person changing the rules and screwing you. I will never understand howm the legal system lets them get away with not suppoting their children, I am not talking spousal support, I am talking child support!

Right now, it seems like a waste, but think of the future. It will be better for you and your kids in the future. Just remember that. It will all be worth it in the long run.

Thanks, everyone. I'll be Ok and it will end at some point. I've learned to let things go that I can't control go, but sometimes that is such a hard thing to do.

It is hard to let things go when your major concern is for the welfare of your children.. Your heart is in the right place and it is good that you are able to accept the change.
