I want to know if he was so unhappy, why isn't he filing for divorce? He gets legal representation for free, and I have to pay. His mother called yesterday and told me that I need to file for divorce, and I explained that I don't get benefits and why should I spend more money. I know she is looking out for me, but it's not fair that "everything" falls on me because he checked out. Just venting, sorry. It's better than my mood this morning!

Well I left my husband because I was unhappy....well he was abusive. And I dont have to pay for the divorce if I file....but I cant get myself to do it because for some reason im stil in love with him and a part of me wants to make it work. I want to make sure that I KNOW it cant work before I do it

Iam not sure why it makes a difference as to who files. Your going to have to pay for a lawyer no matter what. Unless you are planning on using his lawyer which is never a good idea. So waiting for one or the other to file makes no sense, if you want it file and get it moving. Its not exactly speedy in divorce court.
