I was talking to a friend whose first husband told her the stupidest lie I ever heard...at least one of the stupidest anyway.
He drove with his sister to see their mother in North Carolina, (they live in New York). They left on Wednesday and on Friday afternoon his sister called and said, "Tell Rich that I left my bag in his trunk and I need it back when he gets a chance". Richard doesn't come home that night...He comes home on Sunday night going into Monday morning. He didn't call all weekend. My friend ask him if he was coming back from NC. He said yes and that he was very tired. She said "oh...well your sister called.. She said she needs the bag she left in the trunk when you dropped her off". My friend said that his whole face changed because he had been caught in a lie. She then said that he explained his 48 hour absence by stating that... He dropped his sister off on friday and feel asleep in the car. He slept in the car for 2 days until he wok up on Sunday night then came home....WTF! that he could not come home because a tractor trailer lost its load of cars on the highway...
he was only one highway away and it never made the news. he said then it did not make the news because of some sensitive information about the cars. i told him to tell his girlfriend i say hello... doofus.

he had some winners.
another was while he was working at a nightclub all his windows got busted but his boss will pay for it so he can not come home. there are numerous others... oh the big one he had to go to europe to work with one of his friends doing security detail. ends up that is where he took his mistress PARIS - the same place we went on our honeymoon... oh yeah and the 8000Eur that he said he would be using to start his son's education was a year long lie too... god why did I ever stay?

Well I have so many because I was married to the world's biggest liar. He was once robbed while buying drugs, the dealers took his money and his phone. He went to the police and reported that he was in the area because he was lost and that he stopped to ask the guy on the corner for directions. Ok this guy knws his way around crack neighborhoods he's been an addict for years. The cop didn't believe him but he needed a police report to bring home to me to prove why he had no wallet or phone. That guy had the biggest cajones and the smallest brains of anyone I've ever known.
