I can relate to this. Since the separation/divorce, I have acquired 2 more indoor cats - for a total of 4 now!! They give unconditional love, they love to have you home, and they will never break your heart! {{{{HUGS}}}

Yes, I have the same thing with my cat; I worry about if something happens to him. And he is on my lap constantly, he follows me around, sleeps on top of me at night. It's like we BOTH have separation anxiety!

My cats are in heaven... they shyed away from my stbx because he hated them. Literally.

Yes this has happened to me as well. My 2 dogs have become seriously attached to me since I quit working almost 2 years ago, and now I admit that I've really become attached to them since my stbx left me last July. They really provide a lot of comfort and distraction.
As for my cats, they are in heaven with me now that my stbx is gone and they aren't constantly getting scared by the big steel toed boot man clomping around in the house.

I've been obsessed with my dog since day 2, and I've stayed with the stbx cuz leaving him would kill her. She's 15 and in ill health, so I'm not willing to hurt her.

Actually, I'm going the other way... both of the cats are hers, and I don't want them around. I've asked her to find new homes for them.

oh yes i have a dog 3 cats 2 birds topical fish and goldfish and a hamster and i get sheer lovefrom them xx

I think my dogs know i am sad, and they are ALWAYS there to be snuggled with. They are also good friends to walk with. And yes - I feel like I love them now even more then possible, because they love me so much

yes, loves to go for walks and to the store, we keep each other busy and excercised,
