Dating and new technology!

I am 39 and was married for almost 16 years. I have not dated since I was 21. Things sure have changed. I thought that men and women call each other to communicate. With all the new technology, I find that men text and send emails more often then calling.

To me that is kind of impersonal. Please shed some light on this for me. Why can't people just pick up the phone? I do enjoy texting. It is fun and I can text when I can not talk. But it has to be more. How can you form a relationship like this?

I may be paronoid but something I feel it is a way a man tries to hide the fact that he maybe involved with someone else and sneaks away to send a quick message. Maybe and maybe not!

" it's this new age we live in now. Where the phone is getting to be obsolete and it is easier to text or email. Do I like it - no! Nothing like hearing a person's voice over the phone. So if you come up with any answers - let me know ok? "

" I have not dated in 30 years so talk about being out of touch. I don't really care for IM or the phone. Eyeball to eyeball is the only way to go.

" Technology can be helpful as an additional way to communicate but I don't like the fact that some people use it to avoid facing the other person, like dumping someone by email. That's about as low as it gets. "

" I never believed in "love online". Thats just me. But I had friends who had met online and still are together....k....go figure. I dunno....I used to crack jokes about love and dating with new technology and how it has progressed. Me being in technology as my career...I saw how it could happen...yet still never ventured that way. I always figured that you should meet the person in person ya know.....
but then one...day.....oh yeah...here it comes...... I met someone....someone very very special to me!
And...well the rest is in my journal!

RESTORED....utilizing the new technology and applying it to dating or meeting new people has been common for a few years now. Back in the day it might of been a newspaper ad and phone # back in the golden days ya know. No difference really now..other than we have web cams...internet...cell phones...online dating sites....etc. You can take as long as you want if you meet someone online....you dont have to run out and meet them you can take as long as you want to try to feel them out or size them up.....you know what I mean. Takes time to find common ground and see or feel who this person you meet might be like. Its up to each individual overall...so go with whats comfortable. My point is....it just broadens the scope of finding that person instead of just limiting yourself to your zip code. I got that advice from a special lady once.........I wish you the best RESTORED. Hope 1 or 2 of these words help you.
