What would be wrong with selling them?
Especially if it gets him out of your life faster?

In my opinion....NOPE. Not wrong at all. What is the use in keeping them? I think it's also a cool idea to pay for the divorce with the profits too.
If this divorce goes on, I will do the same except I will buy something or whatever (My rings won't be worth much).

Unless he wants them back in the divorce I don't see a problem. You may want to check with a lawyer before you hawk a community asset. Not even sure if that is the case.

well.. not really community property if given as a gift.. but.. eeekkk!..
I say sell it and enjoy the fruits of the value.
but..well..tell your lawyer what you are doing.. or if asked about the rings..if you asked.. say you had to buy food.. so you sold them online to a nice gal in Canada!...

Once the divorce is final I'm hawking my rings. He owes me so much money that I'll never get back so I'll get what I can in whatever valuables I still have left from him.

No, it is a gift to the wife and her property. Etiquette is to return only if you end the relationship.

The thing about is that you get a fraction of the value. I looked into it. I found that even at auction it's not much. If you find somthing different let me know, because I would love to unload some jewelry!

I have an expensive ring too, but I don't think you get anywhere near the value of it with resale. I am having mine reset. I am debating selling my Oleg Cassini wedding dress on Ebay. It is depressing and I am just not ready to.
However, I think you can do anything you want, they are your belongings.

I wouldn't get anything for my ring but i would be carefull selling yours it is still considered marital property. My husband stole the title to my car which is in mine and my father's name the police told me that legally because i aquiered it during the marriage it is marital property.
