Hi Chelle, I feel that way sometimes. A void in reply from the Father who loves me. Why doesn't he talk with me. Very often reading Scripture helps. To know the truth of who I am when it doesn't feel right. Also, I remind myself of those times that God has answered my prayers, my cries for help (sooo many times he's had a hand in rescuing me), and the times I felt closest to God (usually when life feels good and I'm drawn to praise--is usually when I feel closest to God).

He promises that he cares for every single hair on your head. He's promised to be there in the rubble and piles of distruction around you. He promises that he is crying with you in your pain, regret, weakness. Your weakness is made strong in Jesus alone. By letting go and letting God be God, you can trust Him to lead you to greener pastures because He cares for YOU personally, and sacrificed his only Son Jesus because he knows you, and couldn't bear being separated from you if He could help it. He wants to do a miracle in your heart--which is hard to understand when it hurts so much... but through the pain is how He wants to do what is going to help you come out more like Jesus. It's that refiner's fire that causes us to lose our dross, shapen us to person He intended for you to be... and so you can have freedom to go through the fire knowing He's got things in control.

These are promises I've said to myself lately. While I have a few friends who just want to say what a jerk my STBX is and what a wonderful, beautiful person I am, it rings hollow when I'm waiting for the Creator to tell me that... so He is telling you that he loves you, and finds you beautiful--and those are words to bank on.

Go to God in scripture. Go to him in the safety of a bible based church. I can certainly help you find a church where you are. You can message me privately if you want. Also, just because 'organized religion' is my suggestion, please know that Scripture tells us to be in community.. so it could be a house church, it could be a small group meeting, but be it with others who have met God and have salvation through Jesus alone. I find that it helps to listen to God rather than to ask (along the same line as what Lori said). Peace!

God hears your prayers. How they are answered is up to him and we may not recognize his gifts for what they are and when they come. His wisdom is far beyond ours. He gives us what he knows we need, it is usually not what we ask for.
