First of all... I would like to say my heart goes out to all of you. i recently had a discussion with a professor at school about brain surgery and tumors, it moved me quite a bit...please, if you feel lost, broken, scared, sad, don't hesitate to mesage me- i hate seeing some one in pain.

i do not want to appear intrusive to this group, as i have never myself been involved with brain surgery, nor do i know anyone who has, so if you feel i am being intrusive and do not belong, i will gladly excuse myself. i am here out of curiosity... if any of you are willing to share your experiences, i am all ears... the whole thing is fascinating to me, really... id like to know what you know about brain surgery, particularly the process

thank you!

" My mom has brain cancer,in may she had a ceizer, and had to be flown to the hospital, they did MRI and found the tumor,so they did surgery and removed it only couldnt get it all, there were like roots thru the rest of the brain,so she went thru 30 radiation treatments and kemo, but it didnt help at all.her Dr. told me in Aug. she would have 2 to 6 months to live,he said she would start to lose her appitite first, then shed forget people, develope pnemonia... its just at 6 months now,she still has an appitite, she still knows us and she hasnt gotten pnemonia yet,but I can tell its getting bad she is talking really slow and forgets what shes saying alot, her face is really swollen, and I just feel like its starting to get her. he said when we start seeing signs well know, and then itll go fast. so I dont think she will last long,I am so thankful she is in no pain. Im scared to lose her,I just dred to see her every time I go there, because I know Ill see more changes, and Im haveing a hard time excepting it. Im so close to her,its just like a night mare, I wish I could just wake up!! talk to me anytime, sherry "

" I had a Left temoral lobectomy and tumor resection in Sept of this year. I would be glad to answer any questions you have. I had a awesome doctor and the surgery went well, my doc was so great he took pics for me during surgery and gave them to me, as I am a nurse and thought that would be an awesome learning experience, so he did! I was so blessed to have such great care during my surgery, and after. "
