so my friend who is in a nursing home, suffering from a tbi, as making a tremendous effort and has made such improvements. everyone there notices him and all i am doing for him. i have the director of nursing complimenting on it, the supervisors, even his social worker. well i am supposed to take him out this weekend, he wants to get out for the day! i have spent everyday with him except for one day that i missed b/c i was out of town, and still feel guilty about it. well i called his sister, and she has not returned my call in over a week. i emailed her, asking if i could take him out this weekend, well hello it is thursday and still nothing. i know she has a life of her own, but why can't she call? doesn't she want to see her brother happy, and progress? she seems very bitter b/c he really hates her, but he has suffered enough. why punish him for not wanting her in his life? i eventually want to take him home with me and care for him. do i tell her my feelings for him in a letter? she wouldn't understand, she is such a skeptical person? i will not let him down!!!! this is becoming a problem, b/c i tell him i will take him out, but than his sister doesn't respond back to me. i could see if she were making an effort and visiting him, but she has been there twice in the past 6 mo.

" Hi. I just put up a post and mentioned validation in it and that's what I'm talking about! People just dont' validate it. Since a lot of times, there are no visible scars, it's hard, I think, for people to comprehend. To this day, and mine was 18 years ago, my father still won't talk about it. I can't speak for the sister, but you are doing a wonderful thing supporting your friend. Alls you can do is worry about your friend and yourself!! Hopefully the sister will see the light!! "
