My dad just got diagnosed with a brain tumor. They don't know what kind yet. They are operating today. I'm terrified. Someone tell me he will be ok.

" I'm sure you must feel as though you are caught in a whirlwind with this sudden diagnosis and operation. I pray for a positive outcome for your father and strength for you to get you through today and the days ahead. Sincerely, Amy "

" thank you both. They found out it was growing from the lining of his brain not the actual brain which is good news. bad news is that it is near a major vein and they can't get all of it out. Radiation afterwards I think. I'm not sure. God I hope he will be ok "

" Many of us here on this group are dealing with this at the time or have in the past. Be there for him. The way I understand it afterwards he will need some special care at home. He will have increased headaches have bed rest for a couple of weeks. You can help by checking on him often and helping with the little stuff. He will also have to have some help when the radiation is administered.

My grown children are 20 and 21 at home. I so pray they are there for me when my time comes. Possibly within a few months.

Be strong for him.
I wll be praying for the whold family, your daughter also. She will pick up on your stress if you allow it to enter her world. "

" that's why she's at my friends house for the night. She is amazing. I guess the tumor looks benign so they are waiting till next week to operate. My dad's on blood thinners for a heart condition and got a pacemaker this afternoon so he can make it through the surgery. they have to wait till the blood thinners are out of his system. Hopefully no more seizures. hasn't had another one yet.

Thank you for all your replies they mean a ton "
