" No replies ... still; apparently not.

During my little "stints" with tumors though, the Pituitary tumor is usually not cancerous ... but can be. Usually causes hormonal/reproductive problems bigtime though. "

" I have one.

Benign. No surgery. No muss, no fuss.

I guess I've had it for a while. It shut down my periods -- they stopped in August 2005. I just thought I had the easiest menopause ever!!

No such luck.

Detected by my high levels of prolactin. Did MRI in August 2007 and that showed the pituitary tumor.

Taking CABERGOLINE. 0.5 mgs 2x week for 4 weeks. This is final week. (I stalled treatment)

From what I understand i will have a blood test in 2-3 weeks to see if prolactin levels have lowered. Insurance companies too cheap to cover another MRI.

Was also on Risperdal for bipolar (though I am not bipolar). Had to go off that before could start the Cabergoline.

Anything I can help you with? "

" I have a pituitary tumor. I just learned about it a couple of weeks ago. It's making me really, really sick. I'm constantly nauseous (to the point I have to take medication for it), I've got constant headaches from it and my hormones are all screwed up. I'm currently being tested for Cushing's disease. I'm most likely a cyclical Cushie. Luckily I've found a very, very good endocrinologist who works almost exclusively with pit patients and who works with a neurosurgeon who has done tons of pit surgeries if I'm lucky enough to move on to that. "

" First pituitary tumor was invasive..not all of the cells were extracted during the 1978 surgery.
In 2005, found out I have a new pituitary tumor, not as large as before..
Just biding my time until I need another surgery. "
