I don't know if I'm missing them...or maybe it isn't being posted about...but are there many others with BPII that have had psychotic symptoms...and if so how often? Mine have been getting more frequent under stress.

Mine maybe are mild but still annoying...I get...

-hear sirens while driving
-Am unsure of who I am, where I'm living, of my basic stats,
-feel surreal
-paranoid
-suscpisiouis
-hear my name called from time to time
-see shadows ..like you think you see someone out of the corner of your eye and it startles me
-feel things crawling under my pillow at night
-smell poisionous oders or chemical smells
-think people are out to get me or that there's a plot against me mostly by my family or husband

How about you?

" Can a person change diagnosis over time? Can you start of BPII and change into schizoaffective? My psych evaluator thought it was possible I might be schizoaffective...but I don't think so because the episodes are episodes...it isn't all the time. "

" I am schizoaffective and I have "episodes" of psychosis. It's not all the time, like schizophrenia. It is possible you could be schizoaffective. I had many of the same symptoms that you described before I was dxd and put on the right meds. "

" Hi Faith,
I have a few of those issues:

The shadows out of the corner of your eye
I feel things crawling on me sometimes
supsicious...usually with good cause
surreal at times
hear my name now and again
smell crank....but it could really be there at the nearest crack house

I don't know much about any of it, xcept my dis lawyer when he saw i was bi-polar was the first to ever ask me about seeing things out of the corner of my eye...like shadows going by...so that part is bp.

oh yeah...the plot...well i don't feel there is a family plot against me, but i do feel some witch cursed me.

i am knew to knowing that others share alot of this, so i don't really know where it falls.

Standart answer: Talk to you Pdoc...especially the feeling that family plotting against you concerns me.
Also the sirens while driving can be dangerous for you. "

" Why do we have similar psychotic experiences? For me it is the shadows, feeling of bugs on me, and hearing my damn name.

What is with that? "

" Before risperdal and lamictal I use to see shadow people, some were soft and some were sharp and both seemed angry. I even had a soft one jump inside of me and divide into a million and they would not leave. Yes, I was always paranoid and sometimes still am afraid that someone is following me. And feeling surreal is and understatement. It was very exciting but also scary to be me without meds. "
