Oh, you can get these humane traps, maybe from local council (?) that you put an apple in- then take possum & release it in a park somewhere? They're not dangerous, I just let the possums at mine be, sometimes give them fruit or whatever.

Eeek. I hope it's not a large rat. I think I would be getting a little man in. But then I'm always getting a little man in...rofl.

I'd call our local animalcontrol who will trap and take to new home. They'll also give exam, vacinations or whatever.

Probably a rat, if it's in your home. Possums are very timid, and rarely go inside a structure. And if you hear or see "a" rat, there are at least 7 that you don't see.

hmm, depends where you live - worth checking with the council for the right way to go about it if its rare.. there are so many where i am, no point bothering, i'm just used to them now and so are my dogs so everyone lives in peace :) ...and starfish - not all possums are that timid, gotta whole family in my roof cavity and they walk past me on the fence when i'm out for a ciggie...then there's the local dominant male - first time i saw him, understood where the legend of the drop bear came from...lol

At my Mom's home, raccoons run ramped. She had to call an insecticide co. to do the the trick. No baby was hurt and all fell well. Problem.....The rac had her babies their. In her roof. We didn't know that. So there was no way to catch them. Eventually, In a cage and a can of tuna worked! If thous who don't know, You can get a critter who will have babies and die. (Where u can't see) So don't give me hate mail about PETA. Love yall!

I would call your local Animal Control. They have ways of catching the little critter and then they release them into their own habitat. They would definitely do it for you so please calm down. It won't hurt you. I PROMISE!!!

I would call the local council. I am sure this won't be the first one that needed trapping.
