i used to work for my dad. he's a retired neurologist. and in his office he had a drug closet where he kept samples. i would always take it upon myself to try all the drugs. i was of course thinking of the patients when i did this. i just wanted to make sure all the drugs were o.k. :p i went overboard a couple times and he would have to have my mom come pick me up because i was having trouble walking. i insisted i was o.k. to drive. i couldn't walk but i could drive dammit! after that he put a lock on the closet and needless to say i didn't get a key. i just really like to take meds. anything. i like to escape. i like to feel medicated. i've never done any illegal drugs but my friend suggested i should start smoking pot. anyone tried that?

" pot made me more paranoid and I am already too paranoid. sounds like you self-medicate - i am same way if its not a pill (used to be mass amounts of ephedrine), its alcohol or food or sex or some other addiction. maybe your current psych meds (if you are on them - I didn't look) aren't doing the trick if you feel the need to self-medicate. I would talk to therapist and pdoc about this asap - you may one day take the wrong thing or too much of something and seriously harm yourself - sounds like a dangerous pastime to me - note a safe thing to be doing at all "

" Kimmie that kind of makes you a drug addict! I'm an addict and I did similar things when I could. I didn't have a key to the medicine closet though.

So I sold drugs, for years and years. Some woman/men like to take just prescription meds. I was a living garbage can, willing to take anything. "

Is bipolar like a skeleton in your closet or more like a worn out tee shirt.
