My p doc has me on lithium. Its working great so far along with geodon at night. This is the thing I am taking care of my 2 year old, and I have read some pretty frightening things about the lithium. Blackouts to be more specific,and I am just looking for some input...and wondering if anyone is on the lithium and for how long? what effect has it had? any bad side effects...

Never been on lithium but if your that concerned talk to your pdoc about it. I wish I could help more!

When I was on lithium, I just got sooo totally confused and couldn't remember anything. Not a good med. for me.

I have been on lithium for around 2 years and it has been the best thing I've ever done for myself. I haven't had any ill affects by it to this date. One MAJOR important thing is drinking water. I have felt a little dragged down in major heat but again, WATER!! I would feel confident in caring for a child myself too.

i've been on lithium for like 4 years a believe. its works better than anything they've tried. i'm certainly more stable than i was without it. like JG you gotta drink alot water.. worst side effects i've had is it getting toxic and me getting sick. when i first gotput on it i was really shakey, but that goes away. it made me a little more forgetful, but it wwsn't abig deal
