" I am looking for the same answer as you although I have learned a few things that help. Getting out of the house, talking with friends, eating well and getting enough sleep can help. I wish you the best and hopefully the darkness will turn to light soon. "

" meds are essential, but i hope you're seeing a therapist as well. cognitive therapy is used to change negative and skewed thoughts. most people who are bipolar need to learn more effective coping skills in addition to having meds and a support system. "

" ONE DAY AT A TIME, this is the most important thing I think I was ever told...at times I can't concentrate on anything at all. My mind will wonder into this worry cycle where I just run down in my head everything that could possibly go wrong or already has. I tend to dwell on things I can't possibly do anything about. Even though I am medicated and no longer feel like everthing is hopeless, but I don't exactly feel like it's all right either. It seems like even I try to be positive, something or someone comes along and f**ks it all up!! ONE DAY AT A TIME!!!! "

" I have been in those deep dark places. It's usually a manic episode though that gets out of hand and I end up in the phosp. I can't handle it then. My first hosp. I was in a deep depression and it took me 3 months after I got out of the hosp to finally come out of it. I had talked myself out the meds working. I finally went back to work and that made me feel better. It made me feel more normal, though, the people at work were laughing at me. I find that the normies are not very understanding.
I think meditating is helpful too.
If you can read, try reading An Unquiet Mind. I am not sure who the author is but it is a helpful book. "
