To tell or not to tell...

I am having issues with my current employer (not directly BP related). I have been looking for a new job and I am struggling with whether or not I should disclose my being a beeper to my new employer.

I disclosed it to a previous "employer" when I worked for my church but my boss was also my Pastor so I believe he was more understanding than most bosses. I have read on DS about other people disclosing it but I am afraid. I need to find a job fast and don't want people looking at me as if I am a time bomb waiting to go off.

Has anyone ever disclosed it and then not hired?
How about someone that waited to disclose it, were you later fired?
Any other scenarios, good or bad?

" Don't tell. The last time I told I was BP after having a job for awhile, they made my life a living Hell. They knew they couldn't fire me for being BP, but they made my life so miserable I was finally glad to quit. "

" Well everyone, point and case: I was fired today. Exactly 3 weeks from the date I asked for Medical Accommodations. I definitely won't do that again!

Never again will I be so honest with an employer. Too bad I didn't ask for y'all's advice 3 weeks ago! Oh well, lesson learned. "

" Sorry to hear you were fired Chit; I know the feeling. I have been fired due to a disability, and though it may be illegal, it doesn't stop large companies from doing it every day.

RULE OF MENTAL ILLNESS: NEVER TELL AN EMPLOYER!

If you can't do your job, they will find out eventually, but you don't need people second guessing you or looking down at you because your were honest enough to tell someone the truth. There is such a thing as too much information, and this definatly falls into that catagory. "

" In my past professional career I was on the side of the table making decisions on hiring employees...I say don't tell unless there is an issue later that makes you feel you must disclose it. "
