JUST WANTED TO SHARE WITH YOU GUYS FROM THIS CLASS I'M TAKING CALLED PEER SUPPORT TRAINING. THE TEACHER HAS TOLD US THAT WE ARE NOT USE YOUR LABELS SUCH AS I'M BI-POLAR, AND BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER.. WE SUFFFER FROM THESE ILLNESS BUT THEY DO NOT DEFINE WHO WE ARE AS I.. IT WAS VERY FREEING TO REALIZE THAT I'M NOT BI-POLAR BUT I'M AND INDIVUAL WITH BI-POLAR..IT REALLY CHANGED THE WAY I SEE ME SELF AND KNOW I'M GETTING TO THE POINT THAT I'M ALMOST OFFENDED IF SOMEBODY SAYS THAT I'M BI-POLAR NO I'M NOT BI-BIPOLAR, I'M JOYCE WOODARD WHO SUFFERS FROM BI-POLAR, ITS JUST LIKE IF WE SUFFERED FROM DIABETES..ITS ABOUT TIME WE CHANGED THE WAY WE LIKE AT OURSELVES AND THEN MAYBE OTHERS AROUND US WILL CHANGE THE WAY THEY SEE US ALSO..GOOD LUCK AT CHANGING THE WAY YOU LOOK AT YOURSELF..ANY REPLIES WELCOMED, I WILL NOT BE OFFENED IF YOU DISAGREE..

This may be a bad example but if you have cancer you don't go around saying I am cancer. You say who you are and that this is the disease you have to deal with. And as far as medical it isn't anyones business unless you want to share it. "

" I know it is true we should see us as who we are and that we only have a disorder but my discarder affects everything and I mean everything from the way I talk to the way I dress to the way I drive the music I listen to I am emotionally driven in everything so I feel like I my disorder is who I am. "

" I forgot to add I do have neurofibromatosis which does cause turmors to grow on the nerves it can be deadly. I does run my life but being Bi Polar does not. "
