Breathing Exercises

When I was proper Hatstand a friend kindly came round and offered me a sheet of breathing exercises his therapist had given him.I apologised and said I was way beyond help and in no way ready for them.
Years after, I find myself incorporating long, deep breaths into the Callanetics I do.
I find silent deep breaths really set me up for the day.
Has anyone here been recommended any exercises,Breathing or other?
Any good ?

" Yes, breathing. A nice Indian man that worked here gave me a list ..some exercisse for relaxing others for perking up. They work very, very well. When I cant' sleep I do the deep yoga breathing. "

" ever tried yoga?
There is a lot to the yoga breathing. It puts me in a trance. I love that feeling. It is the only thing other than sex that can quiet my mind for a few minutes. "

" if yoga killed your back you weren't following the number one rule of yoga which is "do only what you can do". It isn't a competition and is never intended to push you beyond your limits.
One time in my favorite yoga class I just laid on my matt the entire time and did my own relaxation class. Ok, yes, the other people in the class do think (know) I'm weird, but so what. I got more out of that class than a lot of them where I just went through the motions. "
