Obama seems to think so..
He was just giving a speech on his points for changing the economy. One of which is protecting americans through his "tax plan" absolute shit i think....also thinks that the market has been manipulated and taken advantage of on all ends, and he is going to correct that? How are the banking and regulatory groups doing now? How about our US manufacturing? KPMG... whoa boy. Can it be headed is a worse direction than it is right now? I'm no economist, but it is apparent this country is turning into a dual class society... RIP middle class. Obama may be many things, but he is not an ignorant or stupid man. Well educated and scary articulate, he may offer some interesting ideas. I was skeptical, but with open ears of recent he is intrigeing (sp?)

BTW, I will happily pay 2 dollars more per week in taxes if the right guy/gal (whoever it might be) is using that 2 dollars a week to grow the economy so i can make 5 more per week... Or provide more services to me via municipalities that are worth the bump, or provide meds for BP'ers that cannot afford them...

well yea it was a good speech ill admit, and yes the economy is gone to shit, but i still think his plans for taxation are shit. He wants to have all the lenders in the mort. market buy out the interest in such for example thats a good thing for economy but no so good long term for property sale. I also wanted to know how you guys felt because some of us work and some of us are on disability....how do you think about the government involvement in the economy?

Sarbear you and I are on SSDI so of course we need the government, although we have paid in in order to receive these benifits when needed. I guess there could be a different group to monitor social security?
Our government is out of control lets pray they get things in control soon..

The only thing I can say is that I work with several financial gurus. The economy is not nearly as bad as the media will have us believe. There are alot of elements to consider and while some areas are suffering with a trickling affect to "the people" our economy overall is very strong. Dont let them fool you. Hugs

The news reported that in 2042 we will run out of money for social security. Its the rich that will never feel the pinch of not eating or haveing to sleep in your car. I dont know who I dislike more , Hilary or Obama. They are both liars and racists in my eyes. She claims to be in danger "running from sniper fire" ..but now that she has admitted the lie ..now it's Obama's preacher that is one of our countries leading issues. Were going to hell in a handbasket people. Lord help us ! As soon as we start to pull out I fear thats when the real attacks start.. everywhere. Paranoid ? who me ?
