What is Bereavement

Grief is a multi-faceted response to loss. Although conventionally focused on the emotional response to loss, it also has a physical, cognitive, behavioural, so...

go to this web site to read about what happens to the spirit after death.
Spirit returns to God. Ecc 12:7

This confuses me because I want to know where he went, but it seems like he's still here. Where do you think they go?

" I believe in Heaven. The afternoon my mom died there was a double rainbow in the sky. She was very close to my oldest nephew (13) and she called him her rainbow boy. That afternoon, my sister, nephews and neighbors and my friends and even doctor saw it. My sister told my nephew that it was Nana saying she made it to heaven and I believe that "

" I believe they go to Heaven. When I told my husband that his grandma was there to take him home, his eyes opened wide and I watched him watch someone come to him and his spirit left. I believe he went to Heaven. It was beautiful and very peaceful.

" My Faith teaches me that we are judged by God - our soul's destination is based on our life. So, I guess only God and our loved ones know. I was left asking this question since the day after my Mom's funeral last year. I don't know what I thought when my Dad passed recently.

I've gotten no signs and wonder about that, since my Mom believed in them. Would she leave without sending me one? We were very close. But in her last months, I took down things she said randomly and dated them. If ever there was a sign, the quotes are like a roadmap for my life. But some, I'd say were more signs from God - for my sake. I can't tell if Mom knew she wasn't well. *crying here now* "

" To Mamaschild:
I understand how you feel about the whole thing about signs and lack there of. My friend and a whole lot more, Jim passed away and I keep looking for signs or interactions or some kind of hints to let me know he's watching or listening, or just that he's alright. Maybe we're a lot stronger than we give ourselves credit for and so our loved ones want to let us go and move on and not be in so much pain. I honestly don't know, I didn't get any signs but I remember when Jim was alive he had given me a letter to mail for him. It was to this girl he liked at the time. I misplaced the letter and forgot about it until now... I found it and it's titled "Dear Babe," as opposed to that girl's name. It says things like "I miss you" and "if there's anything I can do from here, please let me know." I don't know if that's a sign but I tell myself it is because I want to believe he is ok. I want it so bad that I convince myself it is true. "

" That is a very interesting question. I have to believe my daughter is in a much better place than this and what other place could be but heaven. Thanks for the website to check out. I send my love and thoughts to you. "

" I have a story:

My dad passed away last October. We knew that his time was coming, and had hospice care for him at home. My mom, sister, myself, and brother in law were all there. When I knew that his time was very close (rapid pulse, knees looked bruised, blue fingers, etc) I decided that my sister, brother in law, and myself should say our goodbye's. My dad would not want us to just sit there and watch him die. My mom was with him when he passed. After myself, my sister, and my brother in law said our goodbye's, we went out to the back patio to sit. They had their dogs outside with us. It was perfectly calm and quiet outside, it was about midnight, and there was no sound. Suddenly, the dogs start to bark and run after something...something we couldn't see or hear but that the dogs obviously could. I believe they were angels coming to get my dad. They ran after the angels, right up to the sliding glass door that was to the room my dad was in. This happened about an hour before he passed away. I have read that dogs are very sensitive to the supernatural, I just wish those crazy little dogs could tell me what they saw. "

" FireMani, yes, I absolutely think that's a sign! One of my signs was something that had been prerecorded by my husband for something else and totally fit the occasion when I came accross it. It blew my mind! The universe is so orderly and interwoven. It's amazing sometimes how that works. I read that many of the "signs and wonders" in the Bible were just temporal things that fit the occasion. The web address I posted when I started this thread has an article about the afterlife. That's what I was referring to. There are some very new ideas in it. It confused me because I have experienced what I feel is a lot of interaction. The article interprets Scriptures to mean there isn't any, but I really wonder about that interpretation because it doesn't seem that way to me, unless God is maybe communicating on their behalf for us. But I still have to believe this communication comes from them, even if God or His angels have to deliver it. It's too close to home, too applicable and too them. "

" People who I have talked to believe the dead sleep until judgement day comes and Jesus will open the book and decide if they go to heaven or hell.
I know that sounds ominous but the churches I use to be affiliated with believed that or some variation of it.

May God bless you and give you peace. "

" Caitlynsmom4, I got goose bumps when I read that! Dogs don't act like that for no reason! I remember a guest speaker on one of my religious programs saying how she saw the angel(s) coming to get her little daughter when she died. She kept begging them to please go away away and give her more time, and they did that but finally did come to get her. :( "

" I peruse the web like a mad woman, recently I read that humans emit electrical waves from our bodies and for as long as 14 hours after death from our brains! Isn't that something to think about! Do we just travel out thru space for ever and ever? "
