I called one pharmacy to get my pain meds filled, the worker told me they didn't have a prescription for me. I asked her many times, are you sure? She said nope, we don't have one. So I freaked out and called my doctor's office in a panic and told the nurse what happened and that she needed to call in a prescription to another pharmacy because I wouldn't be using the other one ever again. They've messed up more than once! Well the nurse said I have to call them and verify. The nurse called me back and said, they have your prescription but they said it was too soon for you to get it refilled. I said that's not what they told me, I felt like a drug addict when she said that. I called the pharmacy back and asked to speak to the pharmacist, she said in an ugly tone, yes we have your prescription but it's too soon to be filled. I said I know that but I was told earlier you didn't have it. Now I'm going to look like a drug seeker and be embarrassed when I go back to my next appt and see the nurse. I promise, they told me they DID NOT HAVE my prescription.

I agree completely. I know the nurse at the drs office thought I was lying. I was even madder after I called the pharmacist myself. The nurse even tried to transfer the prescription for me and they wouldn't let her. All of this jerking me around because of some incompetent worker. I will never use this pharmacy again after this go round of meds.

unfortunatly when you suffer from cronic pain and have to take narcs alot of people seem to think we are drug addicts.
Dont let them get to you. You know why you take your meds so i say screw what any one else thinks.

One time my PM gave me refills on Percocet (2 refills actually)-when I ran outta the first round I called for a refill and started all kinds of shit...the nurse called me back saying there was no way I could have gone thru all that med-I called my ortho and pitched a fit...finally when the ortho called me back and asked if I had gone thru all 3 refills I said "WHAT REFILLS?"...no one ever gives refills on Percs! I never even looked! Man it was fun at my next appt with the PM- he had an attitude and all I said was "sorry!"...what else could I say??? I always make sure I know if a med has refills now!

Our system over here in australia is no where near as strict as yours is. I get oxicontine and endone script every time i see my GP, thats once a month, we dont get pain managment clinc doctors perscibeing our meds its left up to our genral practisiners. when i get my script he has to send it to a goverment department for aproval to give me 1 months worth at a time and the then send me the script and i hand it in to th chemist. Unlike you in the states but i can have a bad week or 2 and take double or even triple my endone and no questions are asked. we dont have pain managment contracts over here either. Im lucky ive got a great GP because there are ones over here that would make you feel like a junkie too.

will now your doctor be mad, that you were calling and trying to get your RX before you were due for it, my doctor counts every single pill i get, and she would demand me into her office like a am 12 and ask why i was getting or asking for my meds sooner then i was do.

Manny- oh he was pissed esp when I demanded a new referal to someone else from my ortho...I did not go to a new doc but the coversation was soooooo fun when I did see the PM again...oooopppppssss...he never counted my meds-never pee tested-he trusted me but then I lost my insurance coverage and could not see him again anyway

Manny-No they won't be mad. It was an honest mistake on my part. The pharmacist told me that they didn't have my prescription at all. So I called my Rheumatologist, he's the one that refills my meds, to tell them that they needed to call another in. Well then the nurse verified that they have the prescription that it was just too soon. I told the nurse that that was not what they told me and that they told me they didn't have it. The nurse did try to transfer my prescription to another pharmacy for me but the pharmacy wouldn't let her. So it sounds like the nurse believed me. I felt like an idiot though.

Oh don't feel like an addict! I've gotten that feeling too. I have a perscription of vicodin called in ever 3 weeks for me and sometimes they're jerks about it. I don't get that though cause I can really get one every 10 days but I don't usually take that much. There's this one lady who I snapped at because I've been going there for almost 3 years and they still can't get my insurance correct and she made a comment about me being dependant, so I made one of her being incompetent.
They screw up too and it was their fault for not telling you the truth. Just kick them in the shins next time you're there =P.
