Has anyone taken Lyrica before? My doc started me on it and I guess I'm wanting to find out how well it works.

" I have been on Lyrica now for a year. Its does help. Its better than Neurontin. Just be careful. If I miss more than 1 dose I feel like I have the worst flu ever and was hit by a truck. Its bad. I have a C5-6 injury and also had L5-S1 surgery last year. I swear I'm falling apart. :) "

" I've been on Lyrica for a few years as well and it is working fine at the moment. All the medications I'm taking cause drowsiness, as does Lyrica, but I would much rather be a little sleepy than to be in agonizing pain. I've never experienced any withdrawal from missing doses or any other weird symptoms.
I take it along with Fentanyl and it seems to do the trick for most of my pain. Neutrontin didn't do anything for my pain either. "

" Mind if I ask for a little more feedback on Lyrica? My dr wanted me to try it but i did quite a bit of research and also read patient comments about it. Majority of them complain about weight gain and mental confusion, e.g., can't remember simple words during conversations, etc. This has scared me away from it but I also don't want to keep living with this horrible sciatic pain. Can you talk about side effects a bit more - thanks much! "
