lst night i took night meds which is elavil and i took a soma to help relax. Well when i laid in bed my back was so in knots all i could do was cry. My hubby massaged it but i just cried everytime he touched me cause it hurt but i know it was helping. Does anyone have any advice to what might help?

I am not familiar with either of those meds, but it sounds like you were having muscle spasms. May want to talk to the doc about some muscle relaxers.

What kind of injection did you have? Cortisone? If that's the case, I had a bad (painful) reaction as well.

I have had many cortisone injections and never had a problem. However, I am also on Hydrocodone, Skelaxin, and ansaids. It is alot but I do not have any pain and take all of these at night. I have recently been put on Cymbalta.
As far as topicals, you should try SALONPAS patches. They are a god send ! I have found them at Costco and at Walgreens. I do hope this helps!
