my daughter had arthritis since she was 8 years old. the doctors thought she had outgrown it, as she had been free of pain for a couple of years. last year she started having back pain, and her back would seize up, for a day or two at a time. this has been happening every few weeks. last week she was out with friends walking a friends dog, and she sat down on the grass for a rest and chat with her friends. when she tried to get up she couldnt, she lay down to try and roll on her side to get up that way, but couldnt do that either. her friends called me and i saw her, i had to call an ambulance for her, she was stuck from the waist down. she had no feeling in her legs at all. she was taken to hospital and the doctors tried to force her up on her feet, she was screaming in agony. they were saying theres no reason why you cant get up. another doctor came and tried to get her on her feet again, with no luck. i had told them her history, and these images of them forcing her will stay with me forever. she started to loosen up about 3pm next day, and got home using a zimmer frame. docs are saying they dont think its arthritis, but i took pics the day she got home and her knee was swollen as was her wrist joints and big toe joint, which used to be affected when arthritis was active. she is to get a blood test on monday 26th may, but thats all the tests they have done. i feel that if they dont think its arthritis, shouldnt they be doing more tests to find out what it is?

My cousin has fibromayalgia and that sounds similar to what she's gone through. It tends to run in families that have arthritis as well, so it's likely that she may have that too. Try researching it more and bring your findings to the doctors - I find it's much easier to figure things out on your own and ask them for a second opinion.

I dont really know what to say, Im sorry, but I can say that when i was four I was diagnosed with Juvinile Systemic Rheumatiod Arthritis, and I had areas that were affected by it more so than others. About three or four years ago I was also diagnosed with fibromyalgia before i was told my arthritis was in remission thankfully, but i still have fibromyalgia and Im sorry but with what I have felt and been told about my fibro...its not it. It does sound like arthritis tho b/c when i was little I would push my limits and the next day I literally could not move, I very often had to have my dad carry me from my bed to the living room and stay there until I could move on my own...which generally lasted all day. I would however do as KirBir said and check things out on your own.
