my orthopedic surgeon said that the fluid in the injured joint(s) swells when the barometric pressure goes up, so there is a basis for this, it's damp, i hurt, so do many others, my neighbours ask me what the weather is going to do some days!

Ironically, it isn't the actual weather that affects you, instead it is the changes in the barametric pressure. When it spikes up or down you will find you hurt. It shouldn't matter warm or cold weather. ((hugs))marcia

angelwinks, i know what you mean about wanting to cry.... i have arthritis in my hands, neck, back, and knees. its getting so bad, i just hate to be dis abled someday.
i guess tending to my farm keeps me going. if i just sat down, like i want to, i don't think i'd ever get up.....

I live in England and although I have had arthritis for a long time last September was when it became more severe in one of my knees (greatly affecting my mobility)...it got worse as the weather got colder but when I went for a mediterranean holiday in December it cleared in a week...Unfortunately when I was cold on the plane home the pain started up again!! I am hoping for some relief during the summer but I've not had any yet....perhaps because our summers are interspersed with rain (and often humid like some other replies mention)....Love M xx

Hell yeah.. Rain is the worst. And extreme cold does it too. Not so much in humidity, I actually find summer is a really easy season. But Autumn/winter is a real bitch.

I think the weather has a lot to do with my arthritis flaring up. Dampness and humidity afffect me. Sometimes a/c does too.

I have flareups at any time, but winter kills me,I'm thinking about snowbirding maybe to puerto rico or the virgin islands somewhere the usa has a foothold.

When a cold front comes thru I know in advance as my whole body aches! My knuckle on both hands swell.
