For parents with children who have anxiety disorder and/or depression. I was always an anxious child and was finally diagnosed with anxiety disorder when I became too scared to go to school in 5th grade. I have been medicated ever since and went to a psychiatric ward 3 times in middle school. Once I found the right doctor and the right therapist, I began to get better. I still have panic attacks, but at certain points in the year, I can go months without having them. When I do have panic attacks now, I have the ability to control them to the point where no one knows I am having them. They are still scary, but I am now in a position where it doesn't keep me from doing things like they used to.

I'm writing this because I want to help. I saw the pain and anguish my parents went through. My mother drained herself and put all of her energy into making me better when I was a child. I may have some answers for you. Please message me with your child's symptoms and stories if you are comfortable. I just feel like I should help someone help their child like my parents helped me.

God Bless

Katie

" Katie, That is so nice of you to be avaiable to help others. I just logged on to this site because my granddaughter is 12 yrs old and suffers from anxiety and panic attacks. She went today to get tested for ADD as well but hasnt gotten any results yet. She has also been cutting herself, arms etc because she said she liked the feeling. I also suffer from anxiety attacks which has almost crippled me my whole life especially in the career/work world and I just can't sit back and watch that happen to Samantha, my precious granddaughter who we all love so much.
Thanks for being there for us
Love and prayers
Glenda "
