I have been taking prozac to help wiht panic attacks for a month, 20mg. I think I was starting to feel a little better then my doctor wanted to up my dose to 40mg. well, today was my first day taking 40 and I feel like I had a set back. Felt anxious pretty much all day, is this my body just adjusting to the new dose? I would love to hear any stories about you guys and changing doses of your meds, thanks!

" I would say it's the new dose. When they did it to me, I had to ask for the 20 mgs and the 10 mgs at first, to only take 30 mg. That worked better for me, as I couldn't handle jumping to the 40 mg right away. Sadly, it only worked for me for about 2 years and I had to switch to something else. It happens though. Try asking for some 10 mgs for right now to do a slower titration. Good luck! "

" I have been taking Prozac for some time. I'm at 20mg now, I could not handle the increase anxiety at a higher dose. the most important thing for you to do is tell your doctor and see if they can adjust the dose. You have not had a set back, try not to look at it that way, you're just trying to get the right dose for you. We are all different and respond to different drugs in our own ways. I could not handle zoloft at all, but prozac works for me just fine. So, try not worry and tell your doctor. Smile:) "
