Almost two weeks into taking the Lexapro and feel like my anxiety is worse. Although I am sleeping way better at night, during the day I am constantly on the verge of panic attacks. I am getting worn out just from trying to combat the panic and I am wondering why I am suddenly seem to be doing so bad. I am not wanting to go out and do anything. I feel panicky all the time and I don't want to be around people except for my safe people. The adreline woke me up at 6:30 this morning. It's just like the light bulb in my head just switches on from a dead sleep. I'm not liking this. Feel like I am going down the tubes and don't know what to do about it. I know it's either hormone craziness or the Lexapro. I just don't know which one.

" you said it's almost two weeks since taking it. So you haven't even been on it for two weeks then. You can't expect results this soon. It takes at least 6 six for a drug like that to be working in your system. You're probably feeling the initial reactions of the drug. Once it settles into your system and starts taking effect, those symptoms should go away. Didn't your doc tell you anything about this before he put you on it? "

" not really no.... except he switched it to night because I wasn't sleeping at all. I had been on Effexor until last December was on for about 3 year and before that Zoloft. I don't think with either one of those I ever experienced an increase in anxiety though. this is different. "

" I tried Lexapro but had too many side effects. My doctor isn't good about talking to me about side effects ahead of time. I go to a clinic and the appointments are so rushed, I don't have time to ask the questions I need to.

I usually do my own research. There's a lot of info about Lexapro on the internet. But you are just getting started on it so it may be something else going on that's causing you to feel more anxious. "
