" that's a tuff one, how to calm an irrational fear with a rational thought. How about this. Take the odds of any one person having an accident, very low , and then the amount of time you actually travel and multiply one by the other and the result is so small , that if it actually happened its cuz it was definatly meant to happen. I know its not the best comfort maybe , but its something to think about. Also I like to leave most of my things in best of order whenever I go somewhere that could entail unforeseen danger, I tidy up , settle any important debts that I can, and take out the garbage. GL. You'll be fine. I'd bet all my chips on that one. "

" Unfortunately I don't think you not worry, but if you try to rationalize the worry it could help. Like elija72 said, the odds of an accident are low. I'm on the highway everyday and haven't had an accident. Even if you were to get in an accident, it probably wouldn't be fatal or serious. If you have something to take before the ride, I'd take it. Even a Benedryl to make you sleepy might be helpful. Good luck. I feel for you. "

" Can you take something to read or chit-chat with someone to keep your mind occupied? Don't give yourself the opportunity to think what if this happens, or what was that sound, bump, etc. "

" Think of this as an opportunity to lessen your fear of traveling. Its ok to do something when your afraid then the fear cant control you anymore and you will have a victory under your belt so to speak. Courageous people feel the same fears we do but they dont let it stop them. You may be uncomfortable during the ride but go for it. Best wishes to you on your trip. "
