Do any of you have or had continuous all day, everyday anxiety for months or more? My anxiety is so bad everyday all day it is ruining my life. I literally shake most of the day and can’t stop my mind racing. I’m getting so weak and tired from the meds and the lack of wanting to leave the house. I don't sleep well but all I want to do is just lay down in fear.
I’ve been on numerous SSRIs over the years which clearly helped the anxiety but weren’t working for my depression. Then they diagnosed me as bipolar and I had lithium with a few others along the way that I’ve stopped taking, including the lithium, because of the side effects. Now I’m on Mirtazapine for the depression and Seroquel. The Seroquel was for the anxiety but it is not helping my anxiety at all and is making me really dopey, dizzy, and drugged out in the day.
I’m terrified of anything and everything and I don’t know what to do. I don’t see the pdoc till Thursday and lately all the meds they try are making me too messed up and not helping my depression or anxiety. I’m really getting ready to give up on this life. I don’t know how much more freaking out I can take.
I’m hoping I can take the Mirtazapine and go back on something like Effexor for the anxiety.
What do most of you take for your anxiety?
I need help.

" Take heart. As fightening as all this is to you, if you just hang in there, it will pass. I've been where you are and I can tell you that today the racing thoughts and constant anxiety are gone. I did this through therapy and meds when needed. Don't give up. Just focus on what you need to do to get well. "

" Mystie, I have had a low grade form of anxiety for about 10 years or so, and then a few months ago it got so out of control that I got the shaking and fear that you seem to be going through. All throughout the day I would experience moments of panic, some of which I could get over, some of lead to panic attacks. I have been on Lexapro 20mg for about a month and a half, and it has really helped. I no longer wake up anxious, and am able to focus much more. It took a while for the med to take effect. I also have Xanax, which I use every so often. Maybe you could talk to your doc about these meds. "

" Mystie, I have anxiey also and it causes the depression. It will get better. I know when its happening you don't think so and it is frightening. I have found through my latest bought of this that nutrition is very important. I have started to take supplements since my diet isn't real good. I'm trying to change that also. You should see about getting on essential oils, which really help brain function, Good Days supplements from Lucida Basset foundation. You can get a free 30 day supply, just type in Lucinda Basset and go to her website. Try and eat regularly, somedays I really have to push to get through, but it is worth it. I don't know if you pray, but that really helps me, also reading the Bible and claiming God's promises. Don't give up, you can and will beat this, as we all will. If you want add me to your friend list and I will remember you in prayer. Hugs Pcbelle "

" Mystie,

I am going through the same thing. I just had to quit my job where i was doing really well and studying because my anxiety became unberable and i couldnt even drive there. Now i have regressed to hardly being able to leave the house. I also feel in total despair and completely helpless. I take zoloft for panic/OCD/depression but at the moment it feels like mine isnt working either. I also take seroquel when i completely freak out. You feel like you are going insane and you give up because it is exhausting and the most horrible thing to constantly be panicked. The hardest part is you cant wait for somebody or something to change you, you have to change yourself. Try making a list each day of things to do. So for example. 9:00am get up, 9:15 have cup of tea, 9:30 Have shower. And break down your day into tiny little bits and each thing you achieve congratulate yourself, because you are doing really well. Hang in there and keep doing these tiny little things because looking at your situation as a whole is totally overwhelming but breaking it down into little bits its more bearable.

I hope you start to feel better, and if you need to talk i understand completely the feeling of hopelessness. "

" Thank you everyone for all your responses. This is such a long process of finding the right meds and since December it has been nothing but a nightmare, and the anxiety continues to grow worse. I'm really hoping I can go back on one of the SSRIs I've had before that clearly helped the anxiety and work at the depression from another angle.
I start Dialectical behavioural therapy tomorrow, hopefully that helps soon as well. "

" I totally understand what you're going through. I feel like my anxiety is getting worse even though I've been taking medications for years. I agree with Shona3 That you should take little steps ine at a time & keeping a schedule for yourself is a great idea. You're strong & you'll get through this. You can read my journal & send me a message anytime. I'm here for you. "
