Hello all ! As a fellow anxiety and panic sufferer I wanted to add a discussion topic to this site. It mostly deals with how we look at our anxiety and panic before, during, and after attacks. After joining this site in Jan 08 I found it to be a blessing. A blessing that I now know that I am not the only one out there that has these problems and a area that I can relate and talk to others in the same boat. I myself have and continue to experienced many of the very same problems and symptoms that you all face. The thing that I noticed is that mine comes in waves are are greatly intensified during a illness such as a cold, sinus infection, etc. I do believe that the health of ears/sinuses greatly feed anxiety/panic as can other illnesses. What I have discovered is that after I feel better and the anxiety/panic goes away even for a short time that I have a hard time remembering a lot of the feelings that I was going through. I believe that this is our bodies way of healing itself. This gives me comfort during the bad times knowing that eventually I WILL feel better and most of the feelings I had will be blocked out. Lastly, at the risk of upsetting some people I need to share my faith with you. It is way too difficult to go through all this alone. Meds do help some folks me included) and so does professional assistance but it really boils down to our frame of mind and what feeds our inner peace. The only real inner peace I believe comes from our faith walk. This problem is too large to be only fixed by counseling or meds. A deep relationship with our Lord allows us to ask for and receive help and comforting from someone who can truly heal us from within. I do continually pray for EVERYONE in this site on a daily basis and I hope that none of us gives up hope because we will feel better. Lets all keep leaning on each other for support and know that there is someone who is watching out for us and loves us!! He will not give us more that we can endure! Love you all!

Dave

" Dave, I agree with all that you said whole heartedly. I've always been spriritual, but I think this is the "big guy's" way of pulling me closer.

The one thing that jumped out at me from your post, the relationship of sinus/colds etc. to anxiety. I'm very curious about this because I can tell when something is up with my teeth. My anxiety levels sky rocket and also, a lot of this started for me when my wisdom teeth were ready to be pulled.

Interesting that I'm not the only one, how did you arrive at this thought? "
