Hi guys why oh why does anxiety have to exsist? I had a pretty good with minimal anxiety was feeling pretty good but then.... It had to just come back. So here it is again chronic palpitations feeling like I need to run a mile or just start yelling. Sometimes I feel so bad for my husband yeah know a few good days then a large spiral down, I hate it. Do any of you take a med that really works? I currently take nothing because the thought of side effects is just to much. I did take paxil and zoloft but zoloft was horrible and took paxil a long time ago pre panic attacks. I guess I just needed to ramble and not feel like I am in this all by myself!! Thanks to all of you who listen!!
P.s anyone else have palps as main symptom?
xoxo

" yes,I get terrified when my heart start to palpitate. I am afraid to go out even with a friend when that happens....it's getting where I have to take a valium to go out and have some fun. That's pretty bad. I have started being very depressed because I am having memory problems. In a conversation with someone I suddenly can't remember things that I know very well. And I am terrified that I am getting dementia or losing my mind. I also feel like nothing is real and feel so lost . does anyone else have this loss of memory and unreal feeling. Please let me know that I am not alone in this. "

" My main symptoms are palpitations and shakiness. I too don't like the side effects of meds. My MD gave me xanax .25mg which is pretty low dose. I even cut those in half! it does help, but end up feeling tired. I usually end up just trying to meditate or deep breathing. Talking to my angles usually helps too! I tend to believe in those things and that really helps me. Hope this helps you too. Stay strong! "

" in a way, maybe this sounds silly, but I have got so used to the palpitations I dont really notice them now! I think it helped to have tests...and find that this was benign....but I take lexepro and it helps SO MUCH with the anxiety - I cant think I would ever come off it, though I suppose I must, but it helps me cope so much better, it really does......and Lamay, I used to take valium and I got addicted.....please dont do that... " Xanax worked well for me. Got me through my high anxiety days and made me feel much better. Took a small dose and only had to use it occasionally (not every day). I haven't had to take it in about a month. "

" Palpitations, racing heart, sweating, difficulty swallowing, you name it. A physical is great to have done, not only to rule out any 'overactive thyroid' scenarios, but to give you a little peace of mind, that your hearts ok, etc. Sometimes a balance of not only quick acting drugs, but an anti-depressant helps. I haxe some Xanax, and carry them only as a 'just in case'. Haven't taken one in 7 months, but it helps to know they're there. Paxil is one I've tried, though fluoxetine has worked much better with less side effects. Loss of memory, lack of concentration, you're not alone there. Feelings of unreality, yep, very common, also. As our anxiety levels decrease, so do these symptoms. Lamay and everyone else, you are not alone. "
