Hi guys. I am going on a roadtrip starting friday afternoon. well my anxiety level is already very high just because there is a lot of new things that will be happening while on this trip. Like in a car for 4-5 hours with 3 boys ages 3,5,7(my sons first roadtrip,never had to sit in car this long before. Plus they hardly can all be in the car for 30 min. without finding something to fight about). And then I am going to meet my boyfriends mom and good friend for the first time. Plus it is our first roadtrip together as a couple. So like I said my anxiety is already high and it is not even time to go yet. Any ideas on how to stay calm and to be able to relax and just have a good time? Try not to worry so much. I am willing to try anything. I dont want the whole trip to be where I am on the edge and not wanting to do anything because I am afraid of what is going to happen with the boys, if they will like me, etc.

I think a little planning might ease your mind. Check the route and see if there are some cool places to look for or stop at and tell the boys what's coming next. We used to play games like 'Beaver' where you look for something like red cars and call beaver first for a point. Might not work for the 3 year old ? Food and drinks are usually a big deal so maybe come up with stuff they really like. If they have fun you may too. We always kept a can of pepper spray handy too in case any fights broke out. (kidding)
