My meds r taking a toll on me. I am having trouble thinking, concentrating and am experienceing some blackouts. I have lost days and I always feel out of it. Im here but im not here. My head stays fuzzy. I talked with my doc about it and he prescribed me more meds. I took myself off of my meds but that was a mistake to do it cold turkey because it affected me badly. I almost had a seizure but I felt that I needed to get my head cleared. The doc was furious because I told him what I done. Im not sure that I understand why take meds if they r gonna make me this way. Im not sure if im better with the meds or worse. The doc saids that its important for me to take my meds but im not sure he is right. Does anyone else feel this way. What should I do? Can anyone help plz?.....Thanks

" do not stop taking meds cold turkey. I did and my Dr. had a fit, and prescribed more as well. I had to go into the hospital for 8 days, and now I know if I stop taking meds. what will happen. Just take a few weeks to let the meds adjust to you, you can up the dose or lower it, just don't stop taking them. "

" I'd say I agree that you shouldn't stop the meds cold turkey , but being someone who does not take and will likely never take meds , even if I am in a very bad spot, and truly believe I need to battle my own demons in total sobriety, I would if I were you and were not feeling right about the meds, try to find another doctor who may have a more holistic/natural approach to your problems, and see if you can work something out that way, maybe more painful at the begining, maybe more of an uphill fight, but you will likely end up in a higher place for it, I can't see how being med free can be a bad thing.

My mother was on Ativan and wine for 7 years when I was a kid, for some obscure pain she had in her jaw and that's the period where I don't really remember anything much about my mom, her coming down from her room and wanting to be loved sure, but other then that, not really. Meds turned her into a wailing shadow most of the time. "

" Stopping meds cold turkey is a bad idea, it can make you realy sick.
Adjusting to new meds can be rough for a couple of months untill they kick in and you start to feel better.
If your truely not happy talk to Doctor again, but remember meds take anywhere from 4/12 weeks to really get going, if were lucky only 4.
Be Careful And I Hope You Feel Better Soon!! x "
