Hi, I have been suffering from panic attacks and depression from childhood. Have experienced everything in the book, depression, agoraphobia, anorexia, hypochondria and have had all the possible symptoms of panic and anxiety attacks. Medication was only availabe when I became 25, prozac and xanax helped me immensely. Now I am going through a difficult period and twice i have experienced an attack.. The problem is that since I know all symptoms I can get through it. Now though I have a NEW SYMPTOM which scared the daylights out of me. It started with hypersensitivity even to the smallest sound. It ended up with my entire body feeling as though it was electrically wired. I felt intense electrical waves going through my body and head. PLEASE if anyone has had this please let me know it would comfort me very much. Thanks

I would talk to your doctor about it, im sure it,s just another anxiety symptom and nothing thats going to harm you as scary as it seems. Im Sorry this happened to you, i hope you feel better soon!. Hugs!

I get these sensations like electric shocks going through my head and other parts of my body a lot as well. I guess it's just another sympton from the hell we've lived with unfortunately. I've suffered from anxiety for years and thought I've suffered every sympton but every now and again I'm thrown a curb ball and then I panic all over again because I never felt this one before.. So I really understand you but just hang in there it's only anxiety.
Love and prayers Ginny

I get movement sensitive because I worry about some of my phobias arising. But I do also get sensitive to sounds if they suddenly decrease a lot because, again, I worry about a phobia hitting.

I used to be extremely sensitive to light and sound.
I couldn't even take showers(only baths) because the sound of shower water would send me off the roof. So its common...

Oh yeah. I have gotten hyper sensitive during an attack. It is just your body reacting to the intense feelings going on inside. You are definately not alone in this and yeah it scared me alot when it first happened.

Hi,
I find that most of my panic comes from scaring myself with terrible stories -- usually to do with the idea that something, a feeling usually, or an idea, won't go away...that I'll be trapped or doomed to endure it forever. This is my root cause of fear. And the way that I reassure myself is to try and reason and remind myself that each moment, each day, each week and year is different. No two are alike. Everything arises and falls away -- and so there is no likelihood that something will re-happen or re-surface the exact way that it did before. This is tremendous comfort. Finally, if I find myself worrying about something, especially that I'll scare myself with obsessive, unrealistic thoughts (and cause another anxiety attack), I repeat to myself "maybe, maybe not." It's my way of cutting the threat in half. May you be comforted and know peace of mind.

Have you stopped a med (which your symptoms qualify for) or started a new one? Maybe forgot to take your meds?
That's what happened to me coming off Klonopin (which I did cold turkey after being on for 7 years that NO ONE in their RIGHT mind should EVER do.) I was in the right mind. Just out of the right meds as my Dr. quit practicing and I wasn't interested in starting with a new one after 11 years with him.
