great book,,,,between this particulat book,,, along with Joe and Charlie Big Book weekends...my world changed very rapidly in my early days of recovery...
Great post..
Amazing book (one of many by this author). I was raised a Christian and had left it behind years prior to reading this book. If the Christian churches adhered to the principles set out in this book it would be a worthwhile religion, but then again, it wouldn't be the big business it is today. My edition also had his writings on the ten commandments, equally amazing.
the emmet fox publications came to aa from dr. bob. even before bill w. met dr. bob the good physician was thoroughly immersed in emmet fox's teachings. he kept the "sermon on the mount" on his night table. anyway, i carry "the golden key" with me at all times in my purse. i highly recommend his books as an aid towards spiritual growth.
Emmet Fox had a secretary who was the mother of one of the first AA members and who also worked closely with Bill W. He and Bill would go to Carnegie Hall to hear Emmet Fox give lectures.
This is just my opinion but I think Emmet Fox my have went a little senile in his later years.
I would not recommend "The Ten Commandments" or "Alter Your Life". These could be a little confounding for those not familiar with the "New Thought" movement.
