Just a nice subject change, and I had a crappy day yesterday so this is a way of turning the page.
So for those of you who are fans, what are your favorite Stephan King books: I go with: 1) The Stand 2) IT 3) Needful Things 4) Pet Semetary 5) The Tommy Knockers 6) Skeleton Crew (short stories) 7) Nighmares and Dreamscapes (short stories) Yes, there are many more, but these are my favorites and these are the ones that I can re-read over and over. I do believe this man has channeled the devil in some of his books. Pet Semetary scared the beee jezuz out of me. I really get freaked with the movie version of the Shining-holy crap do those twins standing in the hallway give me the willies.
I saw the Stand in a made for tv movie with Molly Ringwald-am I correct? It was awful. I read the book about the pie that made that dude skinnier and skinnier-what was that called? Yeah, me and you jacker will indeed meet in hell for reading this. :) Atleast the thought of them reminds me of hell!

Most movie and TV adaptations of his books were stupid.
The one you're thinking about is "Thinner", and he wrote it under the penname of Richard Bachman. Yeah, he's a bit twisted. If you don't like sheer horror novels though, try The Tommyknockers or Dreamcatcher. They're more like science fiction.

The Shining was an excellent movie, don't you think?

yeah, the King purists would say that the movie departed too far from the book, but Jack Nicholson did such a great job with it that I can't argue with you.

My boyfriend: An attorney, wise, patient, intelligent, gentle soul
Is scared of balloons cuz of IT. We were walking down the street on day and there was a loose balloon - on the ground strangely enough - and he stopped and kept on watching the balloon. I was wondering wth??? Then he told me that he was horrified of them from the movie. He is no fan of clowns either. Sorry to say I had a good laugh but he was serious. The man is 44 and scared of balloons cuz of a movie. Damn!

There was one about twins that I can't remember the title. That was a bit disturbing. Might be Dean Koontz? (sp?)
