Dear friend, the answer is yes we all get it from time to time. It is part of your recovery
and during these times you are beginning to get to know yourself which is a good sign. it is hard and remember you are in mourning for your drug of choice which was your best friend!I recently had a bout of it but I knew it would pass from experience yours will also pass and your growth will be an enormous gift. Stick with it and keep in touch with people that understand love in fellowship

I think lonliness sometimes comes from lack of pursuing our passions. Before all my time was occupied with drinking & drinking buddies. One in recovery and working on "me" (steps). I also found I had negleted that part of me that use to like to hike, bike ride , or just read a fiction novel. Getting comfortable &getting to know me may seem lonely at times but it's just because my caious and "dramas"(associated with active alcoholism) are no longer there. I am free to explore things that make me happy. While it can be activities alone or with others. Hang in there ..here in the south you know what they say , if you don't like the weather now hang on a sec it'll change. Happy thoughts :)

jon, i see you are in houston at the moment and so am i. no time for loneliness should you meet up with this kind of crazy female. send me a pm and i will arrange for you to make more friends than you possibly have a need for but join our world. we--those who have escaped the hell of addiction--welcome you to countless good times. the first time-in sobriety--that i laughed so hard i peed my pants was the day when i knew i could do this thing. do not give up. your life is beckoning. i promise.

Lonelyness decribes the pain of bieng alone. Solitude describes the glory of bieng alone. Learn to treasure solitude.

THE FEELING OF BEING ALONE IAM BIPOLAR AS WELL AND THAI IS A MAJOR THING FOR ME AS WELL I FOUND THAT IT LED ME TO BEING A HERMIT ALMOST LIKE ONE SAID U NEED TO LOVE YOURSELF CAUSE IF U CANNOT HOW CAN U LOVE OTHERS THE LONLYNESS .I STATED TO TRY GET OUT AND FIND SOME OF MY FRIENDS TO VISIT THAT IS HELPING ME GETTING ME BACK TO THE FLOW OF LIFE IDONOT KNOW IF THAT HELPS U OR NOT BUT I WISH U WELL

I never felt lonliness when I was drunk.Nor did I feel anything else.I had all kinds of emotions show up after I sobered up,it was kinda overwhelming.Maybe it's just a part of growing up.
