I quit cuz I wanted to... I made a decision to. I dd AA because I could be around people that understand TWISTED thinking I HAD to have PEOPLE around me. I was NOT a drunk I was an IV methamphetamine user. I had more than twisted thinking it was CRIMINAL. I WAS A WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT and they accepted me. I went there because it was SAFE because I HAD NO WHERE ELSE TO GO AND NO LIFE.. it left when my wife and kids left, NO JOB... I had been a drug dealer... fucking trash. It's BECAUSE of AA I am alive. Some did it differantly AND THAT IS OK. It's because of AA I can say I LOVE you and you can KNOW your safe with me. 20 years ago NO WAY. THAT is why I continue. The only way I can repay GOD is to pay all of you back for what THEY gave ME. My LIFE back. HOW do you... the AA BASHERS think it makes ME feel to see words like those that I read here. Do I say ANYTHING no... I come to the AID of such as you BECAUSE YOU ARE WORTH IT TOO and I agree , YOUR WAY WORKS TOO. JESUS You freaking AA NAZI'S ARE THE SAME... it fucking HURTS... it works both ways. How many drug addicts can you call FRIEND let alone KNOW they LOVE you. Well Here's one. Get used to it

I'm not an AA basher.
AA bashed me and thought they had me figured to be on a 22 year dry-drunk but I still go to AA regardless at least for now. AA still bashes me because I'm not in their clique because I don't fall into lock-step with all that they say. There are other ways to help people other than 12 stepping them. It doesn't even have to be related to alcoholism to help other people. I have a couple of good friends in AA and for some reason they happen to be males. I will stay in touch with them if/when I quit going to AA.
