Group conscience and the secretary/chairperson/group leader are the last word in each group - if they are happy with that happening in their meetings it is probably best to find another kind of meeting.

Should have been at our last group conscience, and it was not the long timers it was the people who had 2-3 years and think they know it all!! I was greatful when a long timer spoke up and said "keep it simple!!"

Unfortunately that is very common. Sometimes the format will state please no cross talk, and if you must talk please go outside so you don't interupt the meeting. If the secretary seems to be Ok with interuptions of this sort. You might want to find a more suitable meeting. Not everyone takes recovery their serious. I have been a many, many meetings where people have been told to shhhhhh. Usually it works.

There always seems to be a babeling mouth-ka-teer that needs to hear themself speak. When it becomes excessive say something. I notice when I am speaking to long I will see people I know, touch there watches and so forth. I dont always need to talk, but do when I feel it needs to be heard. If the meeting is dominated by a single person or persons it seems time and time again, find a different meeting. I am rambling again. Sometimes hearing, with no intention of speaking, gives us our best insight.

in some of the meetings i go to we have self styled double dippers, triple dippers and people who have to comment on every point. i have to keep it short and to the point, or i end up repeating myself.

Be observant and figure out where that person frequents. Avoid them or her or it.
During the announcements at the beginning of a meeting, there should be something about cross-talk. I know that cross-talk and those people with the mouths that runneth over can be extremely distracting. Good luck.

we have a bell that the chairperson rings if they go over 3-5 minutes. we also have signs posted all over the place and it's announced before the preamble. those people are an example of self-will run riot. all ego.
