You shouldn't have told them that. i have had that problem many yrs ago and I went back out for awhile, then went back and they sure took me then. all rehab is, toget you some space sothey can tell you that you need meetings, so if you are staying sober that has already been achieved, so no reason why they would put you in a bed.Sounds stupid but it has always been that way.Even way back in the 1980's

by the way it's hard to get help anywhere without insurance or money anymore but there are rehabs out there that will work with you, you have to look everywhere and maybe even different states.

One thing that you can also try is an outpatient treatment program. I wasn't able to do an inpatient program once, but they set me up on an outpatient one so I wasn't taking up a bed. Something to look into anyways that might be worth the while and just might help you out too.

Thanks you guys. I appreciate the information, encouragement and support. You know, it's actually nice to sign onto this site and see good people helping each other instead of signing onto the news or e-mail each morning. Even after 32 days of sobriety I am like a walking time bomb. I slept until 1:30PM and I have a bad habit of going straight for the computer to check the news, e-mail and even the time (it's the only clock I have). When my computer didn't want to start I immediately began putting on my shoes and getting ready to head out the door to the liquor store. Nothing like giving myself a few options to work with, huh? Anyway, my computer finally started and I was stoked to sign on and see your responses. Thank you! I have made DS my homepage and am going to use it as another support system in my daily life especially when it's not super convenient to go find a meeting or something. I'm really glad I found this site.

See from your profile that you are working the steps and are up to step 4.
That is the first step we take where we start taking action to change.
I found that it was working steps 4 to 9 that really changed things for me.
Before that I had learned about and accepted alcoholism and learned about and accepted the solution offered by the 12 steps but hadnt yet done anything to change things.
Steps 4 to 9 were about that process of change. Keep going with working with your sponsor and doing the steps.
They are not a solution to every problem but i found that once i had worked them i was in a better place to see what else I needed help with and how best to get it.

This is my first response and know that sometimes theres a reason why our right where u need to be. I know it souds cliche but believe me sometimes, getting this because you want it is much easier. Think of it this way, my experience is that obstacles are put their and if we can overcome them by talking about how it makes us feel, and not drink, which is my norm, then I can overcome anything. Be proud of where your at and know that the more u push the more u will get what u need.

Try Social Services. I was in in-house rehab for a month for free. Really nice place, too. Great program. If I had to pay for it, it would've been well over $10k. I didn't pay a penny. I think I fibbed on a few questions in the "interview". Uh...unemployed,,,,etc...
