It is not how much you drink nor how often you drink that determines if you are alcoholic.
It is the consequences of drinking and the progressiveness of drinking habits that makes one an alcoholic.

I totally relate hun. For me it's what happens when I do. I've got to quit to, and am also going to be doing it soon. ((hugs)) and best wishes.

Welcome to DS Cher. Glad you have joined here and have decided to quit drinking. Once you have some sober time under your belt the guilt and shame melt away and there is a sense of freedom. It's not easy...that's for sure. You'll find some great support and advice here. There are many options out there to help you with you battle. Best of luck to you.

Welcome, I am 13 days sober and just a beginner, but I am here if I can help you. I was where you are at on May 20 and FINALLY got the courage to put the beer away and went to a meeting and Have been to 4 since and on my way to a beginners meeting. Is AA gonna work, well my way was not and I know I needed to try another way of living, cause I wasn't living!!!!!!

I can completely relate to you on every level. I too do not drink all the time, but when I do, I as well cannot stop. Then I do things that are totally out of character for me. Its like I am sleep walking. Pleased to meet you! I have to decided to start this journey of sobriety after hitting rock bottom this weekend. Maybe we can help each other out!
