Repair of the Liver

Anyone here got any remedies to help heal the liver after you've sobered up? My liver is twitching and sometimes feels like it's being pinched.

I'm on day 6 after 3 years of everyday drinking a 12 pack or more.

Any suggestions?

" Hard to say unless you have been diagnosed with anything...... try Milk Thistle. you can get it at a health food store... can't really hurt in my opinion. Alot of people with hepc have taken it and do take it........ good luck "

" I would clarify that it is ESSENTIAL that you see your doctor. Milk thistle is widely used in Europe but is not standardized in this country as it is an herbal med. You also need to have it checked against your history, any allergies, and current meds by a pharmacist, AFTER you've seen and discussed it with an MD. "

" My liver was so swollen and ached that much I must of complained about it a lot.

Because when I would see people I knew they didn’t say Hi how are you they would say how is the liver today.

And I would reply nothing that a bottle of wine won’t fix. I thought Alcohol was a cure for everything. How insane was that. The alcohol in my case was the poison doing the damage.

When I went into rehab I had a liver function test.

And to my surprise though I had damage I was told that whatever part of the liver that was not damaged would regenerate and improve as long as I didn’t drink more alcohol.

And within time the swelling was gone the ache was gone and everything has been good.

I would suggest you see your GP and have a liver function test and take it from there.

You have made a good start by not poisoning the liver with more alcohol.

All will be ok.

God bless…
Lionel "

" Also--using your cranium as the hard stop, while doing modified push ups against a plexiglass wall, will NOT help your liver--no matter how much milk thistle you ingest(it may also negatively effect your neurological function.) "

" See yor doctor for Liver function test but unless you have cirrohsis which means your liver is irrevocably damaged your liver will recover on its own, assuming you continue to stay sober. "
