Alcoholism Support Group

I remember my first meeting. I was scared, scared of if the people would accept me, scared that I would fail, scared of alot of things. But after I got there and I spoke up and said it was my first meeting, they opened their arms and accepted me. I walked out the doors of AA with a BB, phone numbers, and hope. In the begining I was too proud to use the phone numbers that I was given and I went back out. A new life will start for you when you want through the doors of AA. As for your hubby he has seen you at your worst and he is probably wants to see you to, but does not want to get his hopes up. Worry about you and your program and the rest will fall into place just like our HP wants. You are in the thoughts.

My experience was the same as crzydog's. If it's a good group, they will make you feel right at home.

i am sure he cares but if you are like me i told people a thousand times i would go and then didnt. he is uncertain and i am sure he will support you when he sees you are serious. Scared confused angry with myself for having gone to the point that i had to go yep all of the above. Then came the welcomes the hand shakes even the hugs that i didnt want. You are going to the best possible place to get help. Go open minded and willing to listen. this could be for you as it was for me. the beginning of a new life. If you dont like this particular meeting then try others they are all differebt but have the same result in the end. we stay sober and our lives change. god bless

I did it! I went. I even sat at the main table and told a little of my story. I now have a copy of the big book I'm getting ready to read.

great you went to your first meeting otherwise you have made the first step. i remember going to my 1st meeting i was in a drying out clinic for 2 weeks and when i was in there people came to take you to meetings if you wanted to go I said yes without thinking because even in that drying out clinic i was blaming,people,places and things and never thinking for one minute i was an alcholic and landed going to the meeting in a place that i had grown up near and we used to call the nut house and i thought that day my life was truly over i was going to the nut house and an aa meeting but my friend i know that is when my life began as people honestly shared round the table i thought someone had told them about my life and each one was sharing a little so i would not feel so bad but i know today i was identifying and i got hope and new that i was no longer on my own and this is what this site gives me to please please give it your best shot god blessxxxxxxxxx
