I know I have a problem drinking. I wake up telling myself, I will not drink today? Yet by the time I get off work I am ready to drink. I try to tell myself, no don't go get anything. No, Michelle you don't need it. But yet I still make my way to the store to buy it. I drink about 5 days a week. I don't just drink for a buzz. I drink until I black out and then eventually pass out.
I want to change but I don't know how. Between work, kids, dinner and homework, I don't seem to find extra time to get to a meeting. Well I know that is probably just an excuse. I guess I am scared to go to a meeting. I am a shy person I don't really know if I want to share in front of alot of people. I know I am killing myself. My kids can't stand it. My husband hates it. ( Not sure if I really care what he thinks anymore) I guess that is why I seeked this web site out today. Hopeing to find some answers and or solution. Please anyone out there I am open for suggestions.................... Posted on 10/08/08, 12:10 pm |

Welcome to our club! Congratulations on the first step. I noticed in your comment you said, "I will not drink today?" That is with a question mark. See, I can relate to that. It is a choice, everyday. Work can be really rough and there is nothing like numbing your feelings and pickling your brain. But, how to you feel the next morning physically and psychologically?> Terrible, right. Not to mention the fact that we have both been living in this fog for so long we have never made it up the chain of Maslow's needs--"Self-Actualization" We have never given ourselves a chance. That should be part of teh important journey in life. I take it one day at a time and have found that being extremely physically active helps at the moment. I am here for you and can empathize! Good luck,,,,5 days sober here.
