My son's name!!

Ok so I never really was happy with calling my son George, I like the name but wanted it as his middle name. However everyone (my friends, my ex's mother and my ex) hated the name I wanted to call him- Eli. So I gave in. But now I'm wondering should I just refer to him as Eli? My family all love this name... But a) Would I tell docs etc I want him reffering to as that b) He's 3 months old, is this too late? c)I'm scared of my ex and his mother, what they will say, however my ex is not supportive of me, they live miles away and Georgy will see them for 4days a month or so.

" Ur kid, your the primary care provider, and well,in the states at least you can change a name at any time to anything you want. I have heard of people changing their names to Your Royal Highness. Seriously. sounds stupid but we are talking about people. . . . "

" You can always keep his legal name as George but refer to him as Eli. I have a couple of friends who have one name but have always gone by a nickname for whatever reason.

As for the doctor, you can have him or her make a notation in your son's chart saying that you want your son to be referred to as Eli, not George.

I say not to worry about your ex and his mother! After all, it's your son, too, you gave birth to him, and you are the primary caregiver I'm assuming, so don't worry what they'll say or think. "

" I love the name Eli. I almost named my son that but ended up going with Ethan. I have a few friends that dont like their first name so they ask everyone to call them by their middle name. I think it is never too late. Besides he is too young to say or know his name. Most babies dont know their own name until around 5 months. "
