" It probably depends on the area you live in I would think. We are in Eastern PA and we will be paying an arm and a leg for our two to go to daycare. We looked into nannies/babysitters and they wanted $15 per hour! Reason being is because we compete with NYC and they know they can make that kind of money there and ride the bus for 2 hours to get there.

Now my sister in NW OH only pays like $3.00 and hour for her son but he is going on 3.

So, long winded unhelpful answer I just gave...sorry!

You can look on www.care.com and put in your zip and see what others are charging in your area.

Good Luck! "

" In my area I would expect to pay at least $100 a week for part time-care. Since she is a friend you need to discuss with her what she expects too. "

" I pay by the week - $135 for full time. It is hard to find a part-time person around here without practically paying full-time rates since your baby is taking a spot. "

" I pay $250 a week for 2 and it doesn't include anything but the person watching him. I supply all food, diapers and wipes. ANd I'm getting a break because my friend owns the place. We're in southwest Georgia. Ipay more for daycare than I do my mortgage! "

" My mother runs a daycare in her home and charges 20 a day for 2 years and under, 16.50 for 2-5 years and 10 a day for school age. that is full time. You should look into subsidy, if you have is where you live. "
